REGIONE ABRUZZO: ABRUZZO BIKE FRIENDLY

The Abruzzo Region in collaboration with the Department of Economic Development and Tourism,  has finalized the TAKE IT SLOW project with the presentation of the results achieved, an exchange of good practices between the various players in the stakeholder network and beyond.

The presentation included round trip Vasto - Torino di Sangro with the stop on the Via Verde. In fact, there was no lack of a bike ride on the former railway line, today the flagship of coast, 42 kilometers long in total, to show the billboards that embellish and give useful information to citizens and tourists.

The goal was to promote intelligent tourism to enhance the region as a green tourist destination, which can be visited all year round, with integrated management of natural heritage, culture and the territory. The project promotes the coastal territories of the area between Italy and Croatia and has allowed the actors involved, both at regional and local level, to exchange knowledge, develop and implement pilot actions and test new policies, products and services, thus strengthening , the collaboration between institutions, SMEs, teaching institutes, the civil and private sector of the Adriatic Region in the field of sustainable tourism" - Camillo Marracino, member of project team from region.

Among the results of the project, the "Abruzzo Bike Friendly" stands out, a virtuous network that organizes accommodation facilities and complementary services capable of promoting the development and qualification of the cycle tourism offer.

For the Abruzzo Region this meant promoting its regional heritage as part of a common Adriatic system, offering specialist training to tour operators. And to respond to the need to adopt tourism promotion models, in favor of the development and support for the creation of tourism business networks, the importance of existing green certifications in the tourism market and in particular in the sustainable.

Dmc Costa dei Trabocchi took part in the event , with Michele Perrozzi and Giuseppe Di Marco, and the Consorzio Vivere Vasto Marina who, together with other stakeholders, represented the Local Community Practice within the project.
