More than 220 students from 10 high schools attended the 1st phase of the TAKE IT SLOW training laboratories promoted by Veneto Region, focused on sustainable, accessible, and slow tourism.

The Tourism Department of the Veneto Region inaugurated the 2021-2022 school year with an educational project for high school students. Following the launch, held on the 14th of October, the first phase successfully took place, ending in the first weeks of December.

The training, organized in collaboration with Centro Internazionale Civiltà dell’Acqua Onlus and the UNESCO Global Network of Water Museums, was followed by 10 classes of high schools from the eligible provinces (Venice, Padua, and Rovigo), involving 220 students for a total of 38 hours of face-to-face teaching. The topics of this first phase, led by Civiltà dell’Acqua, had the aim of exploring issues related to sustainable eco-tourism along the inland waterways of river navigation and sustainable tourism development.

The second phase, to be held in January February 2022, will be a creative moment, where the students, supported by the UNESCO Global Network of Water Museums, will try their hand at making short films with the stop-motion technique. The most deserving works will participate in the UNESCO competition "The Water We Want", organized by the Global Network of Water Museums.
