Strategy and action plans for improving the last mile accessibility of Adriatic ports through ICT

Pilot actions and  Investments for improving the last mile accessibility of Adriatic ports through ICT

Transferability and replicability strategies: Project partners jointly co-design one transferability strategy. Through the uptake of such strategy, the nodes (ports) of Trieste, Venice, Ravenna, Ancona, Bari, Rijeka, Zadar and Ploče will facilitate the use of different means of transport, streamlining the entry/exit of trucks and better integrating with their cities and hinterlands.

About section

About

MILEPORT focuses on improving the last-mile accessibility of Adriatic ports, which is crucial for their integration into cities and hinterlands. This accessibility issue affects transport efficiency, economic growth, and environmental sustainability due to increased pollution and greenhouse gas emissions. By collaborating across the Adriatic Sea, the project aims to address common challenges that cannot be effectively tackled at the local level alone. Key stakeholders, including transport operators, will work together to implement digitalization measures and develop medium and long-term planning tools. These efforts will lead to the testing of IT solutions in various locations, allowing for the establishment of common standards and the replication of successful practices across regions. Ultimately, MILEPORT seeks to improve the efficiency of last-mile connections to and from Adriatic ports, benefiting both transport stakeholders and local communities while promoting territorial cohesion in the region.
