HABI project final event

The final conference of the Interreg HABI project was successfully held at the Hotel Adria, organized by the Public Institution Lokrum Reserve.
The conference was opened by a representative of the City of Dubrovnik, the Head of the Department for Urban Planning, Spatial Planning and Environmental Protection, Mr. Božo Benić, acting director of the Public Institution Lokrum Reserve, Veronika Bjelopera, and the conservation manager and project manager for the Public Institution Lokrum Reserve, Ozana Domijan.
The main theme of the conference was the conservation of biodiversity and the preservation of marine habitat types of the NATURA 2000 ecological network, with special emphasis on pressures, challenges, and solutions for conserving the seagrass Posidonia.
Presentations were given by representatives of external collaborators from the Sunce Association, the professional head of the JU NATURA JADERA, Morana Bačić, Lukša Kalafatović from the Public Institution for the Management of Protected Areas of the Dubrovnik-Neretva County, and prof. Ana Bratoš Cetinić from the University of Dubrovnik. Additionally, representatives from Italian project partners – Dr. Enrico Altini from Commune di Conversano and the mayor of Mola di Bari, Giuseppe Colonna, presented their contributions to the project. Ivan Saltarić from the Dubrovnik Development Agency DURA d.o.o. spoke about their activities within the project.
The conference was attended by more than 50 participants, including employees and students from the University of Dubrovnik, staff from other Public Institutions managing protected areas in the Republic of Croatia, and divers from the Dubrovnik Diving Club.
We thank all participants and speakers for their contribution and especially for their engagement in the realization of this significant international project.
