As part of the awareness-raising and dissemination activities PP7 - AGRRA organized the programme “GREW Days”, which was held from April 29 to May 9, 2026.
The programme was implemented with the aim of increasing public awareness about the importance of wetland protection, biodiversity conservation, climate change adaptation and sustainable management practices connected to the Kolanjsko blato pilot area and the Wetland Contract process developed within the GREW project.
Through a series of educational, cultural, and outdoor activities, visitors, local stakeholders, and the wider public were introduced to the ecological importance of wetlands, local traditions and sustainable development approaches connected to the pilot area. The programme included cyanotype workshops, workshops on identification and harvesting of wild edible plants, guided educational walks, birdwatching activities, storytelling and cultural content, as well as the opening of the educational trail “Paths of Kolan’s Past”.
The central GREW Days event held in Kolan on May 9 gathered numerous visitors, representatives of institutions, local stakeholders and members of the local community.
Particular attention was given to promoting participatory approaches to wetland governance and strengthening the connection between nature conservation, local traditions, sustainable tourism and local community involvement.
The programme also included Skuta Fest, dedicated to Pag island cottage cheese and local island products, promoting traditional gastronomy and local production as part of the island’s cultural identity and sustainable development.
Several local and regional media outlets announced and covered the GREW Days programme and related project activities, contributing to wider visibility of the GREW project and raising awareness about the importance of wetland conservation and sustainable management practices.
