"La Laguna da vicino" citizen science in the Venice Lagoon
As part of the Wetland Contract for the Northern Lagoon of Venice, LP IUAV will hold
a citizen science activity involving students from local high schools. The event is focused on exploring the lagoon in a very consciusly and with respect for the fragile, amphibian ecosystem. The trip will start from San Giuliano Park in Mestre, the only public space overlooking the lagoon from the mainland.
Using the GREW app, students from the Liceo Scientifico "U. Morin" in Mestre
and the Istituto d'Istruzione Superiore "F. Algarotti" in Venice will be able to report and monitor climate change-related phenomena in the lagoon, contributing to building shared knowledge of the area.
