Project Partners Meet in Cesena to Discuss Digitization and Cross-Border Collaboration
04/07/2024
The project aims to digitize archives and create a communication platform for scholars, researchers, and the public. Collaboration through joint agreements will facilitate cross-border solutions to common challenges, ensuring accessibility to a wider audience, preserving cultural heritage, and fostering understanding between Italy and Croatia.
The intermediate, technical and steering committee meeting with study visit is held 7th and 8th May 2024 in Cesena.
As part of the project, this meeting of project partners was held in May in Cesena, Italy, in order to define the tasks and activities of the project with the procedures to be implemented in the first 8 months of the project. The leading partner, the City of Kaštela, presented the goals of the project and the structure of the entire project in cooperation with the project partners.
On the second day of the visit, organized by Romagna Tech, the project participants got acquainted with the Malatestiana library, where all partners received interesting information about the history of the library. The Malatestiana Library is the only example of a monastic humanist library perfectly preserved in its building, furniture and book collection, which is recognized by UNESCO, including it, the first in Italy, in the Memoire du Monde Register. Also, the digitization of documents in the municipality of Cesena: overview of ongoing projects in the municipality of Cesena were presented to project partners as good practices for digitization.
