DIGITPORTS at the NEXT Innovation Road Event in Trieste

On 16 June 2026, the DIGITPORTS project will be presented at the event “Digitalization between Sea and Space – TransH2: Zero-Emission Maritime Transport in the Adriatic Sea”, taking place at Sala Luttazzi, Magazzino 26, Trieste, from 14:00 to 18:00. The initiative is organised by M.A.R.E. Technology Cluster FVG within the framework of the Interreg Italy–Croatia project TransH2 and will bring together experts, researchers, industry representatives and public authorities to discuss the future of maritime innovation, digitalisation and alternative fuels.
During the session dedicated to “How Digital Technologies Can Be Used to Achieve Zero Emission Maritime Transport in the Adriatic Sea”, Giacomo Morassutti from the Port Network Authority of the Eastern Adriatic Sea will deliver a presentation entitled “Digital Twin Applications for the Port of Trieste”.
The presentation will showcase the progress achieved within the DIGITPORTS project, highlighting how digital twin technologies are supporting the digital transformation of Adriatic ports. Particular attention will be given to the development of the Port of Trieste’s Digital Twin, which combines geospatial information, infrastructure data and operational datasets to support more informed decision-making, improve infrastructure management and enhance the efficiency and sustainability of port operations.
The event will also feature contributions from leading organisations active in the fields of hydrogen, alternative fuels, maritime innovation, space technologies and digital transformation, offering a valuable opportunity to explore synergies between emerging technologies and the decarbonisation of the maritime sector.
