DIGITPORTS at the iNEST Workshop on Marine Digital Twins
On 16 March 2026, the DIGITPORTS project will be presented at the workshop “Marine Digital Twins: coasts, harbours and infrastructures for sustainable management, system integration and blue economy development”, hosted at the Hotel Savoia Excelsior Palace in Trieste.
The event, organised within the framework of iNEST - Ecosistema dell'Innovazione del Nord Est, Spoke 8, brings together universities, research centres, public authorities, port authorities and companies to discuss the role of Marine Digital Twins in supporting sustainable coastal and port management. The workshop focuses on the integration of environmental and infrastructural data, real-time monitoring systems, resilient planning and advanced decision-support tools, also in view of upcoming Horizon Europe opportunities under the Mission “Restore our Ocean and Waters”.
DIGITPORTS will be presented during the afternoon session with a contribution titled “DIGIPORT and Digital Twins of Adriatic Ports”, delivered by Giacomo Morassutti (Port Network Authority of the Eastern Adriatic Sea). The presentation will illustrate how DIGITPORTS is advancing the development of digital twins in Adriatic ports, supporting smarter infrastructure management, enhanced data interoperability and more efficient port operations.
Through its pilot actions and digital solutions, DIGITPORTS contributes to strengthening the digital transformation of ports in the Italy-Croatia area, fostering cross-border cooperation and building a shared knowledge base for future investments in smart and sustainable port systems.
Participation in the iNEST event represents an important opportunity to connect DIGITPORTS with the wider research and innovation ecosystem of the Upper Adriatic, explore synergies with marine digital twin initiatives and position Adriatic ports within broader European discussions on digitalisation and blue economy development.
Participation in the workshop is open to interested stakeholders. To register, please click on the dedicated registration link available in the event programme (below in the first comment).
