Environmental Monitoring Equipment Strengthens the DIGITAL PLAN Pilot in Dubrovnik

23/07/2026

As part of the DIGITAL PLAN project, the City of Dubrovnik (PP5) has strengthened its environmental monitoring capabilities through the deployment of advanced meteorological stations and environmental sensors in the pilot area.

The equipment continuously monitors key parameters including air temperature, humidity, rainfall, wind speed and wind direction. These indicators provide important information for assessing environmental conditions and monitoring risks associated with wildfires and other weather-related hazards.

The collected data is connected to the project’s IoT-based Decision Support System, allowing real-time information from the field to be incorporated into the wider digital civil protection framework. This supports improved situational awareness and provides authorities with timely, data-based information for emergency planning and decision-making.

The integration of field sensors, real-time environmental data and digital Civil Protection Plans represents an important step towards more efficient risk monitoring and improved preparedness and response to environmental hazards in the Dubrovnik pilot area.
