About section
About
The project focuses on advancing civil protection plans through digitalisation across the Programme area, aiming to establish a standardised and interoperable framework using Internet of Things (IoT) technologies. The primary objective is to create a unified model for Digitalized Civil Protection Plans that addresses the common challenge of enhancing coordination among local authorities.
At the heart of the project is the development of an IoT-based Decision Supporting System (DSS) platform. This platform will integrate data from diverse sources within the partner territories, utilizing microservices architecture to adress specific regional needs and challenges. By deploying IoT sensors in strategic locations, the project seeks to enhance real-time monitoring capabilities, enabling actionable insights and timely decision-making during emergencies.
The project's approach includes comprehensive capacity building activities to ensure stakeholders are equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge to effectively use the DSS platform. This training component is designed to be inclusive, engaging a wide range of actors and stakeholders involved in civil protection efforts. By fostering collaboration and knowledge exchange among project partners, the project aims to build resilience in both the physical and socio-economic environments of the Programme area.
Key deliverables include the development of a cross-border strategy and action plan for the digitalization of civil protection plans. This strategic framework will guide the implementation and scalability of the IoT-enabled DSS platform, ensuring its sustainability beyond the project's duration. Additionally, the project will disseminate best practices and lessons learned from previous initiatives, contributing to the broader enhancement of civil protection capabilities across the IT-HR Programme area.
