Digital Plan Capacity Building Strengthens Civil Protection Preparedness in Croatia
23/07/2026
On 21 July 2026, Croatian partners of the Digital Plan project organized an online Train-the-Trainers session aimed at strengthening the capacities of stakeholders involved in civil protection and disaster risk management.
The training was delivered by Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Naval Architecture (FESB) of University of Split, the project’s national technical partner, and brought together representatives of the City of Dubrovnik (CoD), Public Institution RERA S.D. for the Coordination and Development of Split-Dalmatia County, Zadar County Rural Development Agency AGRRA, as well as members of the Civil Protection Directorate, firefighters, civil protection professionals and other relevant stakeholders involved in emergency preparedness and response.
During the session, participants gained insights into the use of the Digital Plan platform and its role in supporting risk assessment, early warning and improved decision-making. Their feedback will contribute to the further development of the platform and the preparation of its operational manual.
This activity represents an important step in building the capacities of local authorities and emergency services, ensuring that the knowledge and lessons learned during the testing of the Digital Plan early warning system are shared with those who will use these solutions in practice.
Through cooperation, knowledge exchange and digital innovation, the Digital Plan project continues to support more resilient communities and improved preparedness for climate-related and natural hazards.
