03/11/2025

The Digital Plan project successfully held its 4th Regular Live Coordination Meeting, including the Steering Committee Meeting, and an important Civil Protection Info Day on the digitalization of emergency planning in protected areas.

Civil Protection Info Day – October 28, 2025

Held at the historic Abbazia di Santo Spirito al Morrone in Sulmona, the event brought together institutional authorities, emergency management experts, researchers, project partners and other relevant stakeholders. The focus was on:

  • The challenges of managing natural hazards in protected environments like the Maiella National Park – UNESCO Geopark, the project’s pilot site;
  • The integration of IoT technologies and digital tools to support Civil Protection operations during emergencies such as wildfires, floods, avalanches, and hydrogeological risks;
  • Presentations from universities, national parks, the Civil Protection Agency of Abruzzo, the Abruzzo Fire and Rescue Service, and partners of other EU-funded initiatives.

The event opened with institutional greetings from key regional and local representatives and continued with expert presentations and discussions on innovative approaches to managing natural hazards in protected areas.

Coordination & Steering Committee Meetings – October 29–30, 2025

The project partners met for the 4th Regular Coordination Meeting at Abbazia di Santo Spirito al Morrone in Sulmona. Discussions covered:
