Third Regular Coordination Meeting

24/06/2025

From June 19 to 20, 2025, a two-day event dedicated to knowledge exchange and reviewing the progress of the Digital Plan project was held in Bol, on the island of Brač, Croatia. The project is co-financed by the INTERREG VI-A Italy–Croatia 2021–2027 Programme and aims to modernize and digitalize civil protection planning using smart technologies and by strengthening cross-border cooperation.

The Digital Plan project focuses on the development of innovative solutions such as IoT (Internet of Things) sensors, an interactive Decision Support System (DSS) platform, and comprehensive capacity-building activities to improve risk management and local response capabilities.

As part of the SpliTech 2025 International Conference on Smart and Sustainable Technologies, project representatives from FESB and RERA SD presented the project’s main goals, key results to date, and the roadmap for continued implementation. Special emphasis was placed on the IoT systems that enable real-time data collection and its application in civil protection operations.

Following the presentation, the 3rd Regular Coordination Meeting brought together project partners to discuss advancements in digital tools, pilot activities, and stakeholder training efforts across the cross-border area.

On the second day, a Project steering committee meeting focused on reviewing completed tasks, addressing implementation challenges, and planning the next steps to ensure efficient project delivery.

Through the application of smart technologies in civil protection, Digital Plan strengthens the preparedness and resilience of communities in the programme area, supporting a safer and more responsive cross-border environment.
