1 Paragraph_WebGIS Webinar

WebGIS Webinar

The Cyros WebGIS is developed under the INTERREG Italy-Croatia project CYROS. The key
ambition is to collect and share in a common cross-border data repository all the relevant
cycling data collected during the project (cycle infrastructures, cycle services and main points
of interest). The WebGis is developed by the Institute for Transport and Logistics Foundation
(ITL) in collaboration with SIS.TER.
CYROS WebGIS Webinar – Training on cycling data management and WebGIS tools
This webinar, organised within the CYROS project, provides a comprehensive introduction to
the management, harmonisation and use of cycling-related data through the CYROS WebGIS
platform.
The training is designed to support project partners and stakeholders in improving data
quality, ensuring interoperability, and facilitating cross-border cooperation in the field of
sustainable mobility and cycle tourism.
Participants are guided through:-the definition and application of harmonised data models for cycling infrastructure, tourism and services;-practical methods for transforming and validating spatial data (e.g. using QGIS and ETL tools);-the use of the CYROS WebGIS platform for data upload, update and visualisation.
The webinar contributes to the project’s objective of enhancing multimodal and sustainable
mobility solutions in the Adriatic-Ionian area by enabling consistent and shared data
management across countries, in line with the Programme’s digitalisation approach.

2 Paragraph_Lesson 1. Introduction

Lesson 1. Introduction

This introductory lesson provides an overview of the CYROS WebGIS platform and its role
within the project.
It explains the objectives of the tool, its main functionalities and how it supports the
collection, management and visualisation of cycling data across the Adriatic-Ionian area.

3 Paragraph_Lesson 2. Upload temporary data

Lesson 2. Upload temporary data

This lesson demonstrates how to upload temporary datasets into the CYROS WebGIS.
It guides users through the process of importing data layers, checking their structure and
preparing them for validation and further use within the platform.

4 Paragraph_Lesson 3. Cycling thematic layers

Lesson 3. Cycling thematic layers

This lesson focuses on the visualisation and management of thematic layers related to
cycling.
Users learn how to navigate between different datasets (e.g. infrastructure, services, tourism)
and how to interpret and organise information within the WebGIS environment.

5 Paragraph_Lesson 4. Export data and upload data

Lesson 4. Export data and upload data

This lesson explains how to export datasets from the platform and upload updated versions. It highlights best practices for ensuring data consistency, version control and alignment with the CYROS data models.

6 Paragraph_WebGIS Live Training

WebGIS Live Training

This live training session introduces participants to the CYROS WebGIS platform and its role
in supporting the harmonisation and management of cycling data across the Programme
area. Through a practical, hands-on approach, the session guides users in understanding
data models, preparing datasets, and using the WebGIS tools for data upload, update and
visualisation, fostering more effective cross-border cooperation in sustainable mobility.

7 Paragraph_Part 1. Data models for cycling data

Part 1. Data models for cycling data

This session introduces the rationale behind the development of harmonised data models
within the CYROS project.

8 Paragraph_Part 2. Transforming data according to the data models

Part 2. Transforming data according to the data models

This session focuses on the practical implementation of the CYROS data models.

9 Paragraph_Part 3. How to use the CYROS WebGis

Part 3. How to use the CYROS WebGis

This session presents the CYROS WebGIS platform and its functionalities.
