CRESPORT gathers in Ancona: a workshop on port cybersecurity and the 5th Steering Committee Meeting mark a new stage for Adriatic cooperation

On 31st March, the Central Adriatic Sea Port System Authority will host the workshop “Port System Authorities and Cybersecurity” at Sala Marconi. The event will offer a high-level forum to discuss how port authorities can strengthen the defense of critical maritime infrastructure amid the growing cyber risks affecting logistics, trade, and transport networks.
Institutions, security agencies, and operators will exchange views on the national cybersecurity framework, the fight against cybercrime, and the evolving security posture of Italian Ports. Among the expected contributors are representatives from the National Cybersecurity Agency, the Postal and Communications Police, and the Central Adriatic Sea Port System Authority, who will outline operational strategies, regulatory perspectives, and practical tools to reinforce digital protection within port environments.
The following day, on 1st April 2026, the project partners will meet again in Ancona for the 5th Steering Committee Meeting, a milestone in the project’s coordination process. The discussions will review the overall progress of CRESPORT, with particular focus on Work Package 2, dedicated to developing testing methodologies and techniques for cyber resilience in port infrastructures, and Work Package 3, which aims to define common cybersecurity requirements and design a joint cross-border strategy for Adriatic Ports.
The meeting will also address the advancement of pilot actions, the deployment of planned investments, and upcoming activities in communication, dissemination, and financial management.
Through these complementary initiatives, CRESPORT reaffirms its commitment to promoting collaboration between port authorities and institutional stakeholders. By combining expertise and shared operational approaches, the project continues to strengthen the cyber capacity of the Adriatic Port Ecosystem.
