New report published: State of the Art Analysis of Coastal Climate Risks in the Adriatic

24/11/2025

A new analytical report has been published, providing a comprehensive overview of coastal climate risks in the Adriatic. The document brings together key scientific studies, strategic frameworks and planning practices from Croatia, Italy and the wider Mediterranean, offering a clear picture of the challenges faced by coastal communities.

The analysis outlines major hazards such as sea-level rise, flooding, erosion, extreme weather events and landslides, and compares how different planning systems incorporate climate adaptation. It also maps available tools, datasets and methodologies that can support the design of integrated and climate-resilient spatial planning solutions.

The report serves as a knowledge base for ongoing methodological work, expert discussions and future planning activities across coastal regions.
