CReAIT aims to diversify the tourism offerings in Fermo and Trogir by introducing small-scale social innovation focused on Accessible and Inclusive (AI) tourism.
Through collaboration with tourism operators, tourists with special needs, and local communities, CReAIT seeks to co-create inclusive touristic experiences and itineraries. This involves designing AI "recipes" for integrating additional contents and services, organizing AI "ingredients" as assets, and developing an Action Plan to support policymakers in promoting Accessible and Inclusive (AI) tourism.
Outputs include joint awareness campaigns, training sessions, tested AI tourism recipes, and a Cross-Border Action Plan. The project anticipates reducing local vulnerability to tourism by tapping into an overlooked market niche and promoting wider access to cultural heritage for vulnerable populations.
CReAIT employs bottom-up, place-based approaches to foster inclusive tourism, positioning the target sites as AI tourism destinations. By involving people with special needs in the co-creation process, the project aims to enhance accessibility and attract visitors year-round.
