Second study visit: Nursery and Preschool of the Fondazione Ferrero in Alba, Italy

On 16th, 17th and 18th of May 2024 the representative and principals and coordinator of the partnering institutions: Francesca Delkić for the Talijanski dječji vrtić Fregola Buje – Scuola d'infanzia italiana Fregola Buie, Arianna Doz for Dječji vrtić Suncokret Cittanova – Scuola dell'infanzia Girasole Novigrad and Cheyenne Benvegnù for Or.s.a Società Cooperativa Sociale- Nido D’infanzia interaziendale: “I cuccioli della scienza” La Sissa dei piccoli Trieste visited the Nursery and Preschool of the Fondazione Ferrero (Alba, Italy) as the second of the three preschool institution selected in Italy for the study visits. The Ferrero Foundation Nursery and Preschool is a cutting-edge, essential, warm, and welcoming facility. This corporate daycare was established by the Ferrero family, reflecting their sensitivity and attention to current social needs and inspired by the ethical principles of Working, Creating, and Giving, which are core values of the Ferrero Group. The nursery is intended for children aged three months to three years and is an addition to the various initiatives already undertaken for the company's employees.
After carefully visiting the facility and observing the various spaces and rooms available, it is possible to conclude that it has been created with great style and designed to meet all the children’s needs, covering all areas of educational work. There are large corridors with numerous windows, a feature desired by the Ferrero family to allow ample natural light. Certain spaces are dedicated to children's activities, such as the manipulation area and the central plaza for the welcomings. Notable rooms include the music rooms, which are soundproofed and child-friendly. Music activities are conducted in small groups with a music teacher. The Ferrero Nursery also demonstrates a high-level of co-presence among educators and pedagogical staff, who are always present.
