Heritage Meets Climate Action: Discover the CAMPUS Conference in Trogir

Trogir, 20 October 2025 – The Public Institution RERA S.D. for Coordination and Development of Split-Dalmatia County, within the framework of the CAMPUS project – Interreg Italy–Croatia, and with the support of the Trogir Regional Office for the Protection of Cultural Heritage, is organizing the International Conference “Climate Change and Heritage: Challenges and Responses in Coastal and Protected Areas.” The conference will take place on 20 October 2025 in Trogir.
The conference will bring together numerous national and international experts. Special attention will be drawn to the lecture of Prof. Mirko Orlić, PhD, from the Faculty of Science, University of Zagreb, one of Croatia’s leading scientists in the field of climate change. In addition, presentations will be given by representatives of IUAV University of Venice , Maja Vurnek from Plitvice Lakes National Park, Ivan Carević from Geoekologija Ltd., experts from the Trogir Regional Office for the Protection of Cultural Heritage, representatives of the Ministry of Culture and Media of the Republic of Croatia, Split-Dalmatia County, the City of Stari Grad on Hvar Island, as well as the professional team of the Public Institution RERA S.D.
“Climate change is one of the greatest challenges of our time, and its impacts are particularly visible in coastal areas and UNESCO World Heritage sites. With this conference, we want to open a dialogue between science, local communities and institutions, and to present sustainable solutions that have been generated through two rounds of Living Labs and the networking of national and international experts,” said the organizers from the Public Institution RERA S.D. 
Through keynote lectures, expert presentations and a panel discussion, the conference will provide a platform for sharing scientific knowledge, local community experiences and examples of good practice, with a particular focus on safeguarding cultural and natural heritage in times of climate change.
