On November 13th and 14th, project partners gathered in Venice for the second meeting of the Interreg Italy-Croatia European project CAMPUS – "Climate Adaptation Plans for UNESCO Sites." Hosted by IUAV University, the event aimed to foster knowledge exchange, strengthen collaboration and advance the project’s objectives through insightful discussions and field experiences.
The first day was dedicated to a series of presentations and discussions, where participants reviewed progress on methodologies for assessing environmental and climate risks and impacts. The team introduced a participatory model to involve local stakeholders in developing Climate Adaptation Plans for UNESCO sites and identifying potential interventions. These sessions provided valuable insights into the project's current status, objectives and future direction.
On November 14th, the group embarked on a study visit to the Veneto Po Delta Regional Park, a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve renowned for its stunning natural beauty and rich biodiversity. The visit included a guided tour, offering participants an opportunity to explore the park’s unique ecosystem and witness firsthand the synergy between environmental conservation and sustainable development.
By combining in-depth discussions and immersive field experiences, the event successfully highlighted the importance of collaborative efforts in addressing climate challenges while paving the way for meaningful progress in the months ahead.
