Welcome to the BRAVE Library, the central digital repository for knowledge, research, and collaborative outputs developed under the BRAVE project (Building Resilience and Adaptive Vision for the Adriatic Sea Environment)

The Adriatic Sea is a shared treasure facing unprecedented pressures: from invasive alien species (IAS), to climate-driven biodiversity loss and fragmented environmental data. The BRAVE project brings together regional authorities, scientific institutions, and coastal communities across Italy and Croatia to build ecosystemic resilience, harmonize monitoring efforts, and protect both marine biodiversity and sustainable maritime livelihoods like fisheries and aquaculture.

In this Library, you will find our key thematic deliverables, technical studies, and strategic action plans organized by Work Package. Each section reflects our commitment to transforming raw environmental data into actionable knowledge for policymakers, maritime operators, scientists, and citizens alike.

Enhancing Adriatic Ecosystem Knowledge

To tackle environmental changes effectively, BRAVE establishes a harmonized data-sharing ecosystem across the Adriatic Sea. This initiative focuses on overcoming data fragmentation by building a unified digital infrastructure and standardizing data collection protocols. Through the creation of the Adriatic Advisory Committee, cross-border experts and institutional actors collaborate to evaluate environmental threats, define common monitoring standards, and guide evidence-based decision-making. The main output of this work is a shared digital platform and a joint cross-border strategy backed by a formal Memorandum of Understanding to ensure long-term cooperation and knowledge transfer.
