Strategic Workshop on the Blue Crab in the Venice Lagoon Official EU Green Week Partner Event

BlueDiversity – Interreg Italy–Croatia (2024–2026) is a cross-border initiative aimed at supporting biodiversity in mariculture through replicable blue economy models. The project promotes knowledge transfer and strategic dissemination among local and institutional actors across the Adriatic. It engages local SMEs and creates educational “living laboratories” to pilot innovative and circular solutions—such as selective traps for invasive blue crabs. These efforts help curb non-native species, enhance ecosystem services, and foster sustainable economic opportunities in fisheries and tourism. Activities include technical training, field experimentation, stakeholder co-design, and evidence-based communication aligned with EU sustainability goals and the EUSAIR strategy.
