On 22 May, the Istrian Development Agency (IDA) organised an Open Day event within the framework of the Interreg Italy–Croatia BEST4.0 project, contributing to the strengthening of cross-border cooperation, digital transformation, and the competitiveness of entrepreneurs and small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the Istrian region.

The event, held at the Coworking Pula Business Centre in Pula, brought together more than 130 participants, including entrepreneurs and representatives of the academic, civil society, and institutional sectors from Istria and the wider region. The initiative confirmed its role as a key platform for connecting the business community with the tools, knowledge, and networks needed to foster innovation and growth in the context of the blue economy and Industry 4.0.

During the event, Denis Hrelja, presented the current EU-funded projects implemented by the Agency, with a particular focus on BEST4.0 – Blue Economy Sectors Digital Transformation towards Industry 4.0. Through his presentation, he outlined the project’s activities, its successful implementation, and the results achieved so far.

The event also featured an AI Masterclass on the practical application of prompt engineering, led by Domagoj Ostović from Lloyds Digital. The session attracted significant interest among participants and sparked a broad discussion on the practical use of artificial intelligence in business operations. This was followed by a series of roundtable discussions, where participants had the opportunity to receive free expert advice on digital readiness, business development, project development and EU funding opportunities, as well as digital marketing and communication channels. These sessions provided concrete and actionable guidance tailored to the real needs of the business community.
