Showcasing at the 13th Career Days in Rijeka

On 22 April 2026, the University of Rijeka Faculty of Maritime Studies hosted the 13th Career Day, a long-standing event dedicated to connecting students with the professional world and supporting the career development of future maritime and transport experts.

The event attracted a large number of students, visitors, and more than 50 companies and institutions from the maritime sector, public administration, and related industries. Participants had the opportunity to engage with potential employers, explore internship and career opportunities, and gain valuable insights into the evolving demands of the maritime labour market.

As part of the event, the Centre for International Projects presented the BEST 4.0 – Blue Economy Sectors Digital Transformation towards Industry 4.0 project, funded under the Interreg Italy–Croatia Programme. The project was showcased to highlight its role in supporting the digital transformation of small and medium-sized enterprises operating in the blue economy sector.

BEST 4.0 focuses on fostering the adoption of Industry 4.0 technologies across maritime-related industries, promoting innovation, sustainability, and competitiveness. By strengthening collaboration between research institutions, businesses, and public stakeholders, the project contributes to the development of advanced digital solutions and more resilient business models within the Adriatic region.

Through initiatives such as BEST 4.0, the Faculty continues to reinforce its position as a leading regional hub for innovation, research, and cooperation, bridging academia, industry, and society in support of a sustainable and technologically advanced maritime sector.
