Dissemination Day in Rijeka

A dissemination event was held at the Faculty of Maritime Studies, University of Rijeka, bringing together SMEs, academia, industry, and key institutions to discuss digital transformation in the Blue Economy. Organized by the Istrian Development Agency (IDA) and the Faculty of Maritime Studies, the event showcased the TML Index, a tool for assessing technological maturity, along with research findings from Istria and Primorje-Gorski Kotar. Participants explored challenges and opportunities for Industry 4.0 adoption and engaged in discussions on future steps. The event also featured hands-on demonstrations in a VR laboratory, including an HMD ship engine room simulator, highlighting the potential of digital technologies. Key challenges identified included financial barriers, a lack of skilled workforce, and limited research collaboration, emphasizing the need for continuous education and targeted financial support for SMEs.
