Volunteers Remove Over 170 kg of Waste from Madonna del Mare Beach in Caorle

On the 26th of April, the beach of Madonna del Mare in Caorle was the center of a day dedicated to the care of the shoreline and the collection of abandoned rubbish.

45 volunteers participated in the initiative who, thanks to the coordination of PlasticFree, collected over 170 kg of materials scattered on the sand, contributing in a concrete way to the protection of the coastal environment.

The activity is part of the European project AWASTER, which deals with the issue of waste, with particular attention to plastics, in the coastal areas of the Adriatic. The project promotes actions aimed at citizens, young people and schools, environmental education courses and the reuse of materials in the optics of a circular economy.

For VeGAL these moments represent a concrete way to engage local communities, volunteers and new generations on topics that directly affect the land and the quality of our living spaces.

The initiative will be replicated in May in Jesolo with a new day of cleaning and raising awareness.
