Reset is a collection of educational games designed to make the topic of sustainability concrete, accessible, and engaging for young people. Through short and dynamic activities, the shared goal is to understand how our daily choices impact the planet and to imagine actions capable of pushing the Overshoot Day further and further ahead.
The games address key areas of sustainability - such as climate, energy, inclusion, waste, fashion, and communication - alternating moments of reflection with light cooperation and competition. At the beginning of the program, the class is divided into teams of 3 to 6 students to encourage group work, active participation, and motivation through a playful educational challenge.
The overarching objective of all activities is to reflect on the impact of human actions on the planet’s resources and to symbolically help move the Overshoot Day forward. For this reason, each game includes its own scoring system: the points earned by each team are converted into “Earth days,” representing additional days in which the planet can sustain our consumption.
The activities are designed for school settings and short time frames: each game lasts about 10 minutes on average, with the possibility to adjust the duration based on the students’ age, level of preparation, and the depth of discussion the educator wishes to stimulate. The required materials include simple stationery supplies and downloadable, printable activity sheets provided with the guide, allowing teachers and educators to easily replicate the activities.
For each game, the guide provides learning objectives, required materials, step by step instructions, and evaluation criteria, offering a clear yet flexible reference that can be easily adapted to the needs of each group.
