Partners meeting and mid-term conference held in Portogruaro
26/06/2025
On June 24–25, 2025, partners of the AWASTER project from Croatia and Italy gathered in Portogruaro for a two-day event combining a public conference and an internal partnership meeting.
The conference, held on June 24, brought together experts, stakeholders and local authorities to discuss the urgent need to transition to a circular economy as a vital approach to reducing marine pollution and preserving the Adriatic Sea.
During the event, project partners presented a catalogue of 35 best-practice examples demonstrating sustainable practices implemented in businesses. The conference also highlighted innovative tools developed within the project, including a waste-footprint mobile application designed to help businesses, schools and individuals measure and minimize their waste impact. In addition, plans were shared for launching EcoLabs in schools in Split, aimed at educating and engaging youth in environmental protection and circular economy principles.
The following day, the project consortium held a partners meeting to review progress and coordinate upcoming activities. The meeting emphasized the importance of cross-border cooperation and knowledge exchange to address shared environmental challenges effectively.
