Conservation plans on habitats and species

Conservation plans on habitats and species

Under the coordination of the Lead Partner, the Management Consortium of Torre Guaceto, the project partners have developed Conservation Plans aimed at the optimal management of habitats and species of Community interest located within the Natura 2000 sites of their respective areas.

The Conservation Plans, available as annexes, are designed to:

  • Improve the environmental management of Natura 2000 sites through concrete and operational tools;
  • Address existing regulatory, technical, and management gaps;
  • Define specific, realistic, and applicable conservation measures for each targeted habita and species.

All plans were developed following a common methodology, structured in four main phases:

  1. Preliminary analysis - Identification of existing gaps in site management and assessment of the current regulatory framework;
  2. Scientific and technical evaluation - Collection and analysis of ecological, biological, and socio-environmental data related to the species and habitats concerned;
  3. Drafting of Conservation Plans - Each partner prepared a site-specific plan based on a shared methodological approach;
  4. Methodological harmonization - All plans were structured according to a transnationally agreed format to ensure coherence, comparability, and replicability across the Adriatic area.
