The ASPEH – Adriatic SPEcies and Habitats of coastal areas project will hold its Final Conference in Rosolina Mare (RO), Italy, on 9 September, 2026, at the Congress Center, Piazzale Europa, Via Torino. The conference represents a pivotal moment for the project, gathering different stakeholders to share the main results achieved in support of coastal and marine biodiversity conservation across the Adriatic area.

The Po Delta Veneto Regional Park will organise the event, bringing together project partners, institutional representatives, researches, environmental experts and organisations involved in the protection and management of natural areas. The programme will provide a common forum to examine the solutions, knowledge and conservation practices developed through ASPEH, while also addressing the challenges affecting vulnerable coastal habitats, protected species and Natura 2000 sites.

Among the institutional contributions, particular relevance will be given to the participation of Marin Miletić, Project Manager of the Interreg VI Italy–Croatia 2021–2027 Joint Secretariat, who will provide a broader perspective on the results achieved by ASPEH and on the project’s contribution to territorial cooperation and sustainable development in the program area.

In the afternoon, a series of dedicated partner presentations, followed by a final Q&A session, will create an opportunity for exchange among institutional actors and experts. The presentations will address key topics such as habitat monitoring, marine caves, coastal dune management, species conservation, environmental awareness and data collection, reflecting the diversity of actions implemented across the project territories.

As the closing event of ASPEH, the conference will underline the importance of cross-border cooperation, scientific knowledge and coordinated local action that can contribute to reinforce an effective protection of Adriatic habitats and species, strengthening the dialogue between public authorities, researches, protected-area managers and environmental organisations, encouraging the transfer of the approaches developed by ASPEH beyond the project’s lifetime.
