ASPEH Holds Its Final Conference in the Po Delta

04/09/2026

On 9 and 10 September 2026, the ASPEH project holds its final conference in Rosolina Mare, hosted by the Po Delta Veneto Regional Park. It represents a pivotal moment for the project bringing several stakeholders together and showing what has been achieved, what comes next and the importance for protecting Adriatic species and coastal habitats.

The proceedings open with institutional greetings from Michele Grossato, Mayor of the Municipality of Rosolina, Stefano Convertini, President of the Management Consortium of Torre Guaceto, Lead Partner of the ASPEH project, Pako Massaro, Director of the Po Delta Veneto Regional Park Authority, and Elisa Venturini, Councilor for the Environment, Climate, Parks and Civil Protection of the Veneto Region.

Following, insights on sustainable development and territorial cooperation will be shared by Marin Miletic, Project Manager of the Interreg VI A Italy – Croatia 2021-2027 Joint Secretariat.

The core of the conference will focus on the impacts and results achieved across the different areas involved within the programme: from the outcomes recorded in the Torre Guaceto area to habitat and morphological monitoring along the Croatian coast, from the protection of Natura 2000 marine caves in the Vis Archipelago to the conservation of coastal dune environments and the Kentish plover along the central Adriatic coast and the data collection as a monitoring tool in the Po Delta.

In the afternoon, the conference continues with a session dedicated to climate change adaptation projects currently active in the Po Delta area, including CAMPUS, FutureLand and RES-MAB, with an update on the present and future of stranding monitoring in the Veneto Region.

The conference will then end up with a session of questions and answers and a social dinner, leaving the second day to the joint testing activities that will take place in the Caleri Lagoon, providing a practical, on-the-ground conclusion to the 30 months of cross-border cooperation.
