Participation at Youth4Sea: Shaping the Future of Adriatic Cooperation

26/05/2026

On 25 May 2026, the Mole Vanvitelliana in Ancona hosted Youth4Sea – Ideas for the future of Italy–Croatia Cooperation, a one-day event organised by the Interreg Italy–Croatia Programme. The initiative aimed to strengthen youth involvement in cross-border governance, communication, and project development across the Adriatic-Ionian region, fostering dialogue between institutions, projects, and young stakeholders committed to territorial cooperation.

A double presence at the event

ARCHAEODIGIT contributed to the Youth4Sea event in two distinct and complementary capacities.
During the morning session, the project was featured at the Project Fair, alongside other Interreg Italy–Croatia initiatives, including REEL, MAPA, UNDERSEA, ADRINCLUSIVE, and STRENGTH. This setting provided an important opportunity to present ARCHAEODIGIT’s work and to exchange with participants on how digital innovation and cultural heritage can act as drivers of more connected, inclusive, and resilient coastal communities across the Adriatic region.

In the afternoon, ARCHAEODIGIT took on an active facilitation role as working table coordinators during the World Café Sprint, one of the central participatory activities of the day. Across six parallel thematic tables, participants engaged in structured yet open discussions on key priorities for future cooperation, including youth engagement in Interreg governance, cross-border communication strategies, blue economy opportunities, environmental sustainability commitments, and the role of innovation in shaping future programming.

The discussions were highly participatory and dynamic, bringing together diverse perspectives from young participants, practitioners, and institutional representatives. The exchange highlighted both the creativity and the strong sense of responsibility emerging from younger generations in shaping the future of territorial cooperation in the Adriatic-Ionian area.

Looking ahead

Youth4Sea served as a meaningful reminder of the potential of territorial cooperation when young people are not only consulted, but actively empowered to contribute to decision-making processes. ARCHAEODIGIT is proud to have taken part in this dialogue and to have contributed both as a project exhibitor and as a facilitator of exchange.

The experience further reinforces the importance of continued investment in youth-driven cooperation, innovation, and cross-border dialogue as key pillars for a more sustainable and connected Adriatic-Ionian region.
