Local stakeholders contribute to the development of AltRoute

During the first phase of the AltRoute project, all project partners carried out local stakeholder consultations in their respective territories as part of Activity A1.1.
The consultations brought together representatives of local authorities, tourism and hospitality actors, producers, associations, educational organisations, community representatives and other relevant local stakeholders. Through participatory workshops, working groups and interviews, partners collected valuable information on local resources, traditional knowledge, tourism potential, existing initiatives, challenges and opportunities for the development of alternative and sustainable tourism.

Each partner adapted the consultation process to its local context. The Municipality of Saint Peter in The Forest, the Tourist Board of Jasenice and the Municipality of San Leonardo organised local stakeholder workshops or working groups, while CIVIFORM conducted individual and group consultations with stakeholders, including young people.

The results of these consultations provided the basis for the preparation of four territorial SWOT analyses, reflecting the specific characteristics of each partner area. Despite their differences, the territories showed important common strengths, including rich local food traditions, natural and cultural heritage, community knowledge, active local stakeholders and strong potential for authentic tourism experiences.
