ALTROUTE ENOGASTRONOMY FESTIVAL – FROM PRODUCER TO TABLE
As part of the international Interreg Italy–Croatia ALTROUTE project, the Local Products Fair was held in Maslenica on 31 July, bringing together local producers, craftspeople, project partners, residents and visitors.
Local exhibitors presented a wide range of products from our region, including honey and honey-based products, cured meat products, wine, olive oil, lavender products, dried figs, natural cosmetics and various handicrafts.
A special emphasis was placed on the active participation of stakeholders in workshops combining gastronomy, tradition, sustainability and cultural heritage. Participants had the opportunity to take part in traditional food preparation, a workshop on making scented sachets using locally grown lavender, and a zero-waste workshop dedicated to preparing traditional uštipci. The workshop demonstrated how simple local ingredients can be used efficiently while reducing unnecessary food waste.
The programme also included a presentation of replicas of traditional female dolls from the Jasenice area, authentically dressed in clothing characteristic of the region. This activity further highlighted the importance of preserving local identity and passing cultural heritage on to future generations.
Through the “From Producer to Table” concept, the festival demonstrated the strong connection between local agriculture, gastronomy, tradition and tourism, as well as the importance of cooperation in developing an authentic and sustainable tourism offer.
The evening concluded with a concert by Tomislav Bralić and Klapa Intrade, whose well-known Dalmatian songs and wonderful atmosphere attracted numerous visitors and provided the perfect ending to this special evening in Maslenica.
