This release is part of a broader collaborative effort under the Interreg Italy-Croatia Programme to bridge the gap between scientific research and public awareness.
This article provides an in-depth analysis of the threat posed by alien species in the Adriatic Sea, a semi-enclosed basin subject to significant human pressure. The document clarifies that while not all introduced organisms are harmful, invasive alien species (IAS) pose a concrete danger to marine biodiversity, the fishing economy, and public health.
