About section
About
VALUE Plus builds upon the successes of the previous VALUE project. Recognizing the shared challenges of both countries, such as the need to diversify tourist flows, enhance cultural offerings in hinterlands, and improve accessibility, the project emphasizes the importance of district collaboration in overcoming these challenges. By extending and transferring the results of the VALUE project to other areas within the Programme, VALUE Plus aims to enhance the management capacity of territories and promote their unique attributes.
Central to the project is the District Governance Model, which encourages innovation through the involvement of various stakeholders, including young people, universities, cultural associations, tourism operators, and the local community. VALUE Plus will expand existing districts and establish three new ones, guided by a jointly developed Meta-District Strategy translated into a cross-border Action Plan.
The project engages students of all levels in training and exchange activities between the two countries, while also involving businesses in developing new products tailored to the needs of people with disabilities. Tourism operators will benefit from enhanced skills through training activities and study visits.
Eight pilot actions will be implemented to foster innovative development and promote district attractions. An extensive awareness and promotion campaign will be conducted to highlight the project's achievements. Lastly, the project aims to further transfer its experiences by researching, involving, and mapping potential district areas, with the goal of establishing the Adriatic-Ionian Meta-District of Culture as a recognizable brand across the region.
