About section

About

ARCHAEODIGIT addresses the underutilization of Croatia and Italy's rich archaeological heritage by modernizing management practices. The project introduces an innovative Methodology for the preservation, interpretation, and valorization of archaeological sites, integrating all stakeholders from the tourism ecosystem. This approach aims to attract new visitors by promoting off-season itineraries online, incorporating interactive exhibits and applications on-site, and utilizing immersive technologies like Metaverse and AR.

Additionally, ARCHAEODIGIT provides training for cultural and tourism operators to effectively implement the Methodology and utilize project outputs such as a digital Platform and Joint Strategy. By increasing visitors to archaeological sites, the project supports the competitiveness and resilience of the tourism sector, aids in post-pandemic recovery, and reduces seasonal pressures on coastal areas by promoting inland destinations and off-season travel.

The collaborative and co-creative nature of the project ensures the immediate applicability and replicability of its outputs in other regions.
