Dubrovnik and Neretva Region for its second zero waste blue sport event

 

During the Ston Wall Marathon, the following sustainable solutions will be adopted:

  • recycled materials;
  • paperless registration and communication;
  • use of biodegradable cups;
  • plates and cutlery;
  • rational use of public water in large water bottles with taps;
  • cotton shirts;
  • use of local products and local producers;
  • natural materials (stone) for finisher prize medals.

Dubrovnik and Neretva Region organized a working group meeting with the stakeholders in order to define and sign the Memorandum of Understanding, which you can find at the following link.

The project aims to promote sport events with the Zero Waste Blue brand which identifies sustainable tourist products to be offered to sport tourists and to their followers who can take advantage and enjoy the natural and cultural heritage of the destinations. According to this, Dubrovnik and Neretva Region realized a sustainable tourist package. Take a look at it at the following link.
