Official Launch and Kick-off Meeting
20/03/2026
The launch event and kick-off meeting of Interreg Project Italy-Croatia “WineGuard” took place on March 12-13, starting an innovative initiative dedicated to students and focused on sustainable agriculture and environmental protection.
The main objective is the reduction of pesticide in agriculture through a joint educational program that involves students in using digital tools for environmental monitoring and sustainability.
The project brings together three partners – GAL Patavino, De Nicola High School (Piove di Sacco), Hvar High School (Croatia) – involving students in concrete solutions to address pollution and enhance agricultural sustainability.
The main objectives to be achieved by 2027 include:
- Promoting the reduction of pesticide pollution in surface and groundwater
- Encouraging the adoption of sustainable agricultural practices
- Training students and teachers in the use of digital technologies for precision farming
- Strengthening cross-border cooperation between Croatia and Italy
The two-day meeting gave partners a valuable chance to build mutual understanding, share ideas, and lay the groundwork for effective collaboration.
The project is now moving into its operational phase, aiming to create a positive and lasting impact on the regions involved.
