The project aims at applying on sample areas (maritime landscapes of Torre Santa Sabina, Grado, Resnik/Siculi, Caorle) a methodological and technological protocol based on research/ knowledge and development/communication of an underwater archeological site that is complex and multi-stratified, characterized by strong diversity. The project’s objective is therefore to transform the site into an underwater archaeological park (or eco-museum) through innovative and/or experimental methodologies and techniques in order to try to reduce the loss of important cultural heritages as well as to guarantee an economic spin-off deriving directly from the creation of a sector linked to the tourist-cultural promotion of the context of reference.

VIDEO
The results of the research in the pilot site Resnik / Siculi allowed the implementation of an exhaustive tool of knowledge and enjoyment: an immersive AR experience to be used with Oculus or semi-immersive, displayed on monitor, that tells of the evolution of the seascape and the settlement from Neolithic to the Roman Age.
In this video you see Hellenistic settlement which shows a presence from the second to the first century B.C. (Babin 2011; Kamenjarin 2016). The remains of the foundations of the western and southern walls, of one of the roads (also preserved in Roman times) for a length of 10 m, and of 30 wooden poles have been identified. The identification of the wall layout in this area will make it possible to specify the extension and function of the settlement, which was destroyed in the second half of the 1st century B.C., also for its virtual reconstruction; data on the position and shape of the port to the east are known from previous excavations.

This video shows the oldest and least known part of the site is a Neolithic settlement, located at the mouth of the Resnik stream, at a depth of about 3 m, where wells obliterated by a fire, filled with stones and other materials, were recovered; above all, ceramic fragments from the ancient Neolithic, lithic artefacts and animal bones were found. Research confirms the presence of a Neolithic settlement in this area, which has been indicted by previous findings.

This video present Roman port. Although the structures are clearly legible in aerial photos, it has never been investigated. This sector has returned most of the materials, datable between the 2nd and 5th centuries A.D.
Short video summarises the project "from start to end", describing the project’s goals and results, with special attention given to the cross-border cooperation from which it benefited and the possible diving / snorkelling routes that tourists can take on both sides of the Adriatic.
