The event, organized by the Intermodal Logistics Training Consortium (CFLI) together with the partners of the TRANSPOGOOD project will shed light on the main dynamics, trends and innovative ICT solutions to make multimodal transport and logistics more sustainable and efficient, as the 2030 UN agenda on sustainable development indicates.
The speakers represent the main stakeholders of the intermodal transport in the area, and include port authorities, transport and logistics companies and SMEs.
The first part of the event Trans-PORT-good: between sea and land, present and future of intermodal logistics in the Adriatic will be the occasion to present the main results of the TRANSPOGOOD project, led by the Croatian KIP Intermodal Transport Cluster, based in Rijeka.
By capitalizing on many years of territorial cooperation the project has developed an online platform which supports enhanced supply chain planning with positive impact on costs and reduction of carbon footprint.
The project has also developed training paths for the present and future workforce in the sector, where the symbiosis between man and machine will characterize operations. Professor Emeritus George Giannopoulos will introduce the program with a keynote speech on the transport innovation revolution taking place in the sector, which will set the stage for the TRANSPOGOOD Forum. In this part of the event, different perspectives on the innovation enablers in transport and logistics and on the developments of the shipping industry in the Adriatic will be shared by companies and institutions.
The event is also an important occasion to network with and exchange knowledge of other projects carried out through European Territorial Cooperation. In particular other projects of Interreg ADRION, Italy-Croatia and other European initiatives will show how the EU is investing in the future of transport and logistics.
Sergio Barbarino, Chair of ALICE, the EU Innovation Platform for Logistics, will conclude the agenda of the morning, while in the afternoon participants will visit to the port of Venice by means of an intermodal study visit.
The event is open to interested public. Registration is required.
