TAKE IT SLOW AMONG THE BEST PRACTICES FOR SUSTAINABLE TOURISM IN VENETO!

Published on 22/03/2023 (last modified 04/05/2023)

After the Pandemic, the behavior of Italians is dictated by an even greater influence of sustainability. According to the Federated Regional Tourism Observatory (Osservatorio del Turismo Regionale Federato), with reference to the latest COOP report, consumers tend to have more attentive and participatory attitudes, feeling about being more protagonists and able to directly enhance sustainability thanks to their daily choices.

The actions implemented by the Veneto Region Tourism Department in the frame of Take it Slow project, as evidenced by the Observatory, not only go in this direction but have even become examples among good practices that lay the foundations for the sustainable tourism development of the whole region.

In addition to the Sustainable Tourism Development Manual, the Region is committed to boosting capacity and awareness in a concrete way on the territory, through the creation of AAC guides, 3D models, and tactile maps dedicated to CH sites, training for tourism students, operators and professionals, renewal of the European Charter of Sustainable Tourism, publications for elementary and middle schools, and awareness of athletes participating in important run competitions through questionnaires dedicated to sustainability and daily behaviors regarding the environment and sport.
