1st Smart Specialization Workshop

The first out of three workshops on the subject of smart specialization in green, slow and sustainable tourism,  within the TAKE IT SLOW project, was held on May 26th, 2021. 

The first out of three workshops on the subject of smart specialization in green, slow and sustainable tourism, which are to be organized within the European TAKE IT SLOW project, was held on May 26th, 2021. The workshop was organized by the University of Zadar and the goal was the dissemination of knowledge and best practices in smart specialization in green, slow and sustainable tourism. 

The workshop participants had an opportunity to follow lectures prepared by Ms. Ivana Maletić from the European Court of Auditors (ECA) and Mr. Alfredo de Liguori from the Regional Tourism Agency PUGLIAPROMOZIONE.

Ms. Maletić gave a presentation on the topic “Smart specialization as a basis for the development of local units”, in which she explained the concept of smart specialization, by going through elements such as defining smart specialization, its main features, S3 principles, steps in developing a strategy and many more.

The second presenter, Mr. Alfredo de Liguori presented the “#Weareinpuglia” campaign. The campaign was focused on the promotion of authenticity and identity of the Puglia region (Italy) as a way of creating a sustainable demand in tourism practice. Through this campaign, the Puglia region has promoted itself in a creative way as a destination that nourishes the uniqueness and identity of the region, with the goal of a sustainable tourism development and diversification on the tourism market.

The next two workshops on the subject of green, slow and sustainable tourism will be held on June 24th, 2021 and on July 7th, 2021.
