First two days were dedicated to theworkshops, organised by the CNR-ISMAR itself, on the installation of underwater noise recording systems, the recording of underwater sound and data processing. During the workshop, participants followed training activities for the positioning and installation of hydrophones and processing of the data acquired. Acoustic experts that have participated to the workshop included
-
prof. Tegowski (from University of Gdansk) that presented the experience of BIAS project on noise monitoring in the Baltic Sea as well as the previous research on noise pollution monitoring in Italian sea (according to the MSFD of the European Commission)
-
dr. Thomas Folegot (from Quiet Oceans -company specialized in the monitoring and forecasting of underwater noise) that talked about sound propagation modelling
-
and experts from University of Gdansk that presented the development of tool for data processing.
The workshop was followed by the Monitoring and Steering Committee Meeting that was held among the project partners (the Institute of Oceanography and Fisheries in Split, the Italian National Research Council, Blue World Institute of Marine Research and Conservation in Lošinj, Cetacea Foundation in Riccione, the Environmental Protection Agency of Friuli Venezia Giulia ARPA-FVG, the Marche Region, the Croatian Ministry of Environment and Energy and the Teaching Institute of Public Health in Rijeka).
