The italian newspaper L'Internazionale published a video about our Interreg Italy Croatia project SOUNDSCAPE

How noise pollution disturbs underwater life

Noise pollution produced by human activities disturbs life in the marine environment. In the Adriatic Sea, where the traffic of goods is increasingly intense, the noise of ships interrupts the communication of dolphins, tuna and turtles, as well as interfering with their ability to search for food and orient themselves.

The Soundscape project, which involves Italy and Croatia, has created a map of underwater noise in the Adriatic, with the aim of monitoring the situation and identifying the most affected areas that need to be protected.

The video is produced by Elisabetta Zavoli and Francesco Martinelli with the support of Earth Journalism Network's grant.
