Building on a previous plan developed in 2008, the project was drawn up by architect Chiara Atanasi Brilli, who will coordinate the work once the executive plan is approved by December.
The new wood-covered auditorium will have 400 seats and will be provided with a special footbridge to bring the orchestra up to stage level; the acoustic has already been tested and will be ideal once the renovation works are completed.
The concert hall will also be provided with a foyer, a bar and changing rooms for the artists, all while preserving the space dedicated to sports facilities in the same building.
The total cost of the project amounts to 3 million euros, which the municipality hopes to include in the art-bonus initiative.
The new auditorium will become the main music venue in the city, and the municipal administration is working to have Maestro Riccardo Muti to inaugurate the facility in September 2022.
