Interreg Italy Croatia DORY- Capitalization actions for aDriatic marine envirOnment pRotection and ecosYstem based management has been represented by Fabrizio Caruso (coop MARE) at the Mid Term Conference in Rimini organized by Cetacea Foundation. The project DORY, capitalizing the results of the IPA Adriatic ECOSEA project, has been promoted the adoption of common management models for supporting sustainable fisheries and development of alternative spatial management measures. The pilot activities has been tested the innovative solutions for reducing the negative aquaculture ecological impact of the economic activities and to, on the other hand, enhance the biodiversity of fish habitats.

ARPA Veneto has been involved during our Mid Term Event in Rimini on November 11th to present the activities and to share the results obtained by the Interreg Italy Croatia strategic project "MARLESS - MARine Litter cross-border awarenESS and innovation actions" in the marine litter management and stakeholders’s awareness. The theme of the event was "Coastal and marine pollution related to fisheries, inland and maritime activities".

Interreg Italy Croatia Net4mPlastics was represented by Nicola Fraticelli (Hydra Solutions) at the Mid Term Conference of the project RESISTANCE in Rimini organized by Cetacea Foundation. Specifically, the intervention focused on the presentation of the online platform developed by Net4mPlastics to collect data on the distribution of marine litter and macro plastics with a multidisciplinary approach and the involvement of citizens.

- Interview to Dubravka Bojanić Varezić (Institute for Oceanography and Fisheries).

During the Mid Term Conference of Interreg Italy Croatia Resistence Dubravka Bojanić Varezić (Institute for Oceanography and Fisheries) presented the results of monitoring the amount and distribution of marine litter, including microplastics, in the central and southern Adriatic, for projects ML Repair and Ne4Mplastics.

RESISTANCE project partners visited the port of Špinut and the port and beach of Strožanac on the 18th of July 2022. At these locations, within the ECOMAP project, chemical-physical devices for wastewater treatment were installed, equipment for ecological beach arrangement was purchased, and the Blue Flags were raised on the beach and port of Strožanac, as well as in the port of Špinut.

The main goal of the project is to share the acquired knowledge and experience about the sea and the sea environment, but also the coastal and river environment by capitalizing the results of 7 Interreg projects: Ecomap, Ecoss, Net4mplastic, Soundscape, Dory, Sasapas and ML-Repair. The main results of all these projects were presented during the conference. After the project presentation, the Workshop named „Sustainable management for Maritime Spatial Planning in protected areas/ for biodiversity protection considering climate change impacts“ took place and gathered different stakeholders who discussed and shared different views and perspectives on the topic.

The trip was organized by the Public Institution "Kornati National Park", where the results of the SASPAS project "Safe anchoring and protection of marine flowering plants in the Adriatic Sea" were presented.
