The Port of Ploče is developing new ICT solutions as an upgrade of the existing PCS ICT solutions, which can then be used as prerequisites in the integration process of the National AIS system and the development of a Pilot Traffic Image Application (application for VTS and SAR operations).

Aim of the pilot is to develop a system for better controlling and managing of the entire Port area, exchanging daily data needed for port operations and focusing on ship arrival/departure procedures and gate in/out procedures. This will contribute to an improvement of the daily exchange of information between stakeholders and existing systems, thus optimizing port communications.

All the port stakeholders will benefit from the delivery of the needed information on time, and the pilot will have a positive impact also on the local community, for the specific ICT solutions will be developed in the Ports.

As project partner, Port of Ploče Authority has completed the activities regarding the implementation of services of Technical design for the future development of PCS systems, which includes:

- Supervision of the security aspects of IT infrastructure with the aim of implementing the technical design of the development of port information systems.

- Assessment of information system’s security level, addressed to performing technical design of port information system’s development.

As prerequisite for the delivery of the pilot system, Port of Ploče Authority has implemented communication and sensor cable at the new entrance of the terminal, as well as traffic ramps aimed at increasing security and control of entry/exit to the port areas.
