The PRIZEFISH project idea builds on the rationale to implement a cross-border, territorial and socio-economic developmental change in the cooperative renewable exploitation of Adriatic fishery resources and consequently in the long-term benefits on the Adriatic marine ecosystems. PRIZEFISH builds on knowledge that were capitalized on abundant synergies with several previous and ongoing cooperation projects in the fishery sector its overall objective to tackle the dual territorial challenge for Italian and Croatian Adriatic fishing SMEs and Producer Organizations (POs) to be more sustainable and to increase their economic competitiveness in the seafood markets, by developing and piloting innovative fishery products with added-value given by ecolabels fulfilling requirements of environmental, economic and social sustainability.

The Inter-Departmental Centre for Research in Environmental Sciences is located in Ravenna Campus of the University of Bologna and active since 2001 in the interdisciplinary research field of environmental sciences. UNIBO-CIRSA is a leading institution that brings together multidisciplinary scientists and expertise in marine fishery and economic sciences interested to assess ecosystem impacts, vulnerability and sustainability as well to achieve environmental and sustainability certification.

Zadar County has considerable experience in implementing EU funded projects, especially cross border ones, as the projects Ecosea and Bee Promoted. In PRIZEFISH project Department of Agriculture will be involved due to the extensive knowledge and experience in managing European projects. Benefits for the County as a public body will be manifested in the frame of expansion of innovative professions and ideas, education of people and benefits for direct producers and consumers.

National Research Council – Institute of Marine Sciences (Cnr-Ismar)
The Institute for Biological Resources and Marine Biotechnologies (CNR- IRBIM) was founded in 1968 as the Marine Fisheries Research Institute (IRPEM), with scientific expertise related mainly to fisheries science of the Adriatic Sea. The most important areas of research are fisheries biology, mariculture and artificial reefs, population dynamics, physical and chemical oceanography, marine microbiology, marine geology, acoustics, naval technology and fishing gear technology.

Assam - Agency for Agrofood Sector Services of Marche
ASSAM is the operational agency of agro-food policies Department of Marche Region. Its mission is linking productive sector to research sector in close cooperation with decision-makers in charge of rural planning, Universities and Research Centres, agro-food stakeholders. Also, ASSAM plays the role of Certification and Public Control body for products conformity with regional, national and EU Regulations as well for quality related to products traceability.

Cestha - Experimental Centre for Habitat Conservation
Cestha is a research association for environmental protection projects. It brings together various skills from the academic world, with a team of marine biologists, aquaculture and naturalists. Its intervention range goes from environmental protection projects to research for a sustainable use of resources. In the fisheries sector, it collaborates with the Ravenna Marine Department in development of sustainability programs about fishing technics, resources awareness and product valorisation.

Secondary High School 'Remo Brindisi' - Pole of Sea Crafts
The Polo dei Mestieri del Mare (PMM) is a next-generation schooling model in Italy. PMM aims to increase the professionalism of young workers and to ensure the highest competence in sea crafts, collaborating with many institutions in ambitious learning projects. Within 25 training modules, PMM educates operators in fishing, ecology providing them territory knowledge and transformation techniques, to raise awareness in the strong relationship between economic, environmental and social aspects.

Institute of Oceanography and Fisheries - IOF
The Institute of Oceanography and Fisheries (IOF) is one of the leading scientific institution in the field of marine and fisheries biology, ecology and oceanography at the Adriatic and Mediterranean level. Project team are expert scientists involved in regional fisheries management organizations and scientific bodies of EU Commission. Also, IOF is fully equipped for conducting biological and oceanographic investigation, both in the laboratories and in situ on scientific research vessels

National Institute of Oceanography and Experimental Geophysics - OGS
The National Institute of Oceanography and Experimental Geophysics (OGS) is an internationally oriented public research institution. Thanks also to multi-decanal experience in scientific and applied research, OGS holds competencies for an exhaustive evaluation of marine ecosystem features, from hydrodynamic analyses to chemical, physical and biological processes that determine its functioning. OGS hosts the National Oceanographic Data Center for collecting marine data.

Fisherman’s Cooperative Omega3
The “Omega 3” Fishing Association was established in 2008 in the town of Kali on the Island of Ugljan famous for hundred-year fishing tradition. The primary occupation of the “Omega 3” is fishing for small pelagic fishes (sardines and anchovies). The catches of the “Omega 3” members has a significant share in total Croatian catches, where they participate with over 20% of the total national catch of small pelagic fishes. It gathers 16 associates and owns a fleet of 21 vessels.

Fishing Cooperative Istra
The Fishery Cooperative Istra, a leading fishermen cooperative in Istria, was funded in 2004 and has since then counts 50 active members and a few more subcontractors. Istra’s fishermen have a fleet of 56 boats and a centuries-old fishing tradition. Istra cooperates with the Centre for Cooperative Entrepreneurship, Fishing guild and local trade associations for promoting fishermen cooperation. In 2017, ISTRA is recognized as a producer organization (OPISTRA) of sole and oyster.

Organisation Producers of Bivalve Mollusc of the Veneto Sea (Adriatic Sea)
The Organisation of Producers BIVALVIA targets the Veneto natural stocks of sea clams (Venus, Chamelea Gallina) from the Adriatic Sea. The OP BIVALVIA particularly performs sustainable fishing applying a rotation basis across the fishing districts and conducts systemic quality controls with accredited analysis Institutes. OP BIVALVIA counts around one hundred Veneto fishing businesses, and it is a member of the Management Consortium and the Organisation of Producers of the Veneto Region.

Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Croatia
The Ministry of Agriculture is state administration body of the Republic of Croatia which carries out various tasks related to agriculture, rural development, fisheries and forest management. Professional staff assist fishermen and aquaculture companies in the adaptation process of the implementation of Common Fisheries Policy and Common Market Organization. The project will contribute to the fishermen's knowledge and rise interest for cooperation to achieve a sustainable fishery economy.

Public Institution RERA S.D. for coordination and development of Split-Dalmatia County
Public Institution RERA SD is a regional development agency established and owned by Split Dalmatia County with the objective of creating an operating entity serving as instrument of development for the region with emphasis on European integration and attraction of foreign investments. As interdisciplinary institution, which implements EU funded projects, RERA S.D. established good cooperation with University level and research institutions at national level.

Emilia Romagna Region - General Directorate for Agriculture Hunting and Fishing, Service for Wildlife and Fishing Activities
Emilia Romagna Region (RER) has specific competence in the sector of fisheries and aquaculture, managing national and European funds for development of economic activities in the Region. RER has gained experience in managing the ichthyic Regional economy in partnership with other Regions, protecting the marine resources for a compatible and research oriented fishery to increment number of fish, to guarantee employment and income to the sector and carrying out infrastructural interventions.
